Buttermilk Pancake Syrup

(I think this is Sis. Buhler's recipe) It is sooo good! You will never go back to maple syrup again!

1/2 c buttermilk
1 c sugar
1 cube butter/margarine
1 T karo syrup (white)
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

In 3 qt. pan bring buttermilk, sugar, margarine, Karo syrup, & soda to a boil. Boil 5 min. Remove from heat & add vanilla. Remove from heat. Should be foamy and white on top. Serve.

I usually put the leftovers in a mason jar, and refrigerate it. I am not sure if it has to be refrigerated though.
